Just when you’re feeling bad about yourself, along comes this video to make you realize that you would probably lose in a fight against North Korea’s special forces. South Korea and America, take note of this latest batch of propaganda. Surprisingly, I have never punched through fifteen roof tiles at once. I have never had someone use my elbow as if it were a nail and bring a sledgehammer down on my fist to drive my arm through some concrete blocks. For that matter, I don’t know anyone who has been repeatedly whacked in the stomach with a dull, but large axe to demonstrate the strength of his abs. I do know a few people who like to take off their shirts and dance in fields, but they’re not very intimidating.
As impressive as the martial feats are in this training film for the North Korean military academy, I can’t help but think about all the food shortages that occur in the country, in particular as a result of flooding so severe that Kim Jung-Un executed Choe Yong Gun for not planting enough trees to stop the flooding. Seriously, every day these North Korean special forces cadets must receive the same amount of calories that an entire village gets every week.

Of course, if they ever come up against an army that can afford guns and bullets, they will get creamed.

I love that they used the theme from the “Police Academy” movies. I really can only wish that the DPRK did this on their own, not knowing any better. Because being reminded of Tackleberry while watching these men struggle with wire, and break bricks that are made to break apart easier (notice the wave pattern, and how they shatter to dust so easily), is incredibly funny.
When they broke the sticks on the one guy, I just wanted to over-dub this with the similar scene from “Kung Pow: Enter The First.”
