Anyone who has ever lived in, or visited, Hong Kong knows that the majority of all houses both cost a fortune and come very small and compact.

Below is a great Infographic that details Kowloon’s Walled City, which was overwhelmed by squatters after the Japanese army took down the walls and left it abandoned.

Over the years, more and more people took up housing there until it exceeded 50,000 residents in the 1990s, with only 40 square feet of space per person.
