We’re taught not to play with our food.

However, in an amazing twist of fate, a rat-snake has befriended his natural prey, a hamster. The two natural enemies have grown so close that you can even see the hamster fall sleeping on top of the snake.

The zookeeper at Japan’s Mutsugoro Okoku, a zoo outside the city of Tokyo, also finds the unique friendship short of amazing: “I have never seen anything like it.”

They have even named the hamster Gohan, Japanese for “rice,” as a sort of joke.
