JM1, once again westerners show ignorance through uneducated posts on something they consider offensive. Did you know that horse, cow, sheep, goat and even pigs are very social and intelligent creatures. Yet you as a high and mighty Westerner, you still probably eat them. This is not a considered an insult to eat dogs in Korea. It has been a part of the culture for thousands of years long before your civilization even started in the west. So once again, please stop comparing something as natural as eating an animal that is considered as livestock to child molestation. Only certain dog breeds are raised and eaten. I am glad that the world doesnt revolve around your narrow minded, uneducated, ignorant opinions.

well, as an Indian who has also been in the West, I say that these stupid "rituals" dont exactly make up the entire country's culture! A lot of such shenanigans happen in other countries, including the West. Just that they may not be found under "weird asia news". And I never knew of such ridiculous rituals in India… probably 1% of the entire 1 billion population follows them, and that does not really contribute to the entire culture of a country. Culture of a country doesnt depend on ridiculous rituals followed by less than 5% of the entire country…
We Indians dont need to take appointments to have lunch or dinner with our parents, unlike you westerners. thats what you refer to as culture. For you guys, you need an excuse like thanksgiving or christmas to meet with your folks. And most of you cant wait to push your parents into retirement homes, because you dont want to take care of the same people who took care of you while you were at home.
Western culture? Please… What exactly do u call culture? There isnt any culture in the West!
Maybe you should check out the weird stuff that happen in your country! And then lets see if you still think of your culture as superior…
First of all, stop believing any culture is superior… Cultures arent supposed to be compared… No country's culture is superior or inferior… They are just pertaining to different countries.
And third world??? Well well.. Most of the West's intelligence comes from these very third world countries if you didnt know… Without us, you wouldn't have been able to post this very comment here…
So think before you consider your culture as superior… or even attempt to compare cultures…

So much for cultural equality… As a Westerner, I have no doubt in my mind that Western culture is superior to these types of third-world shenanigans.
