Potterheads, Universal Studios Japan has a gift for you!
Later this year, a Harry Potter park attraction will open. “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” as they would call it, is modeled after the one opened in Universal Orlando Resort back in 2010.
Universal Studios Japan is in collaboration with Warner Bros. and Universal Parks and Resorts to feature replicas of the Hogwarts castle and Hogsmeade Village in its park.
Total construction costs are estimated to reach US$440 million.
This new Hogwarts is starting to take its shape and a lot of people are getting excited about it. Even trains on the JR Sakurajima line are playing Harry Potter-themed ads to hype up the people. Soon it will have a train stop directly in the theme park.
J.K. Rowling, author of the original book series, said, “I was delighted to experience and enjoy the attention to detail, creativity, and superb craft that went into the first Wizarding World in Orlando. I am equally delighted that the same level of expertise and enjoyment will translate to the new park in Japan.”
