Foreigners in China Accuse Little Girl of Selling Sex
November 5, 2012 | by Genevieve Baxa

Two foreigners caused quite a ruckus in the media after they mistakenly accused a five-year-old girl of selling them sex.

The foreigners were having a good time in a bar near Jing’an Temple when a little girl appeared before them and tried to sell them flowers for five or six RMB. The twist in the story happened when the little girl apparently tried to speak in English and closely pronounced “six” as “sex.”

This startled the foreigners, who alerted the police immediately. The police refused to return the girl to her aunt, who was nearby because they mistook her for the girl’s trafficker.

The incident caused an outrage on the side of the aunt, who apparently was nothing more than a florist. She said that her niece could in no way have been selling sex at the age of five.
