Beware: Bad Teachers!
School is said to be children’s second home. Thus, teachers are their second parents. There’s actually nothing wrong with that unless that teacher is Yanhong Yan.
Ms. Yan and another teacher were recently detained due to “criminal behavior” after some pictures of her “abusing” some of her students spread around the Internet. The most popular of the photos showed her lifting a student by his ears.
Yan told China Newsweek, “She didn’t approve of what I was doing initially, but I told her that it was just for fun and would take just a second.”
This became one of the most talked about topics on Weibo — reaching more than four million messages.
Here are some of the comments:
“When you look at yourself picking up this child with a frightened expression of pain, do you not feel bad?”
“This is obviously child abuse, but it is not a crime under the existing criminal law, and she cannot be punished.”
This just shows that child welfare in China is becoming one of its many big problems.
