Chinese Cows Get Their Own Pageant
September 10, 2012 | by Genevieve Baxa

You’ve probably heard of pageants for pet dogs and cats, but how about for cows?

In China’s Shanxi province a beauty contest was recently held for cows. It seems that the animals’ owners were really into the idea, too, because a total of 200 cows, from 11 farms, were entered as contestants.

The criteria was based on milk quality, appearance, and pedigree. The first place winner took home 50,000 RMB (US$7,900).

Here are some pictures of the event.
