Exorcism Ritual Claims Seven-year-old Malaysian Girl’s Life

A three-year-old Malaysian girl died after a long “exorcism” ritual.
Local police Chief Azman Abdul Lah said that the ritual was performed by an ethnic Chinese family in the town of Bukit Mertajam.
The child’s parents also participated in the ritual.
“Acting on a tip-off, police entered the house and broke down a bedroom door only to find eight people including a foreign maid covered with a blanket, with the victim pinned under them.”
“They were chanting in the room. Police believe they were involved in an exorcism ritual to drive away evil spirits,” he added.
The Star newspaper reported that the lengthy ritual lasted for 20 hours. However, Azman said they could not confirm if the ritual really had lasted that long.
The eight suspects are now being investigated for murder.
