Diehard Fan Dies Watching Euro 2012
Fans from all over the world are watching the Euro 2012 games. However, one fan gave “diehard” a whole new meaning.
Xiaoshan Jiang, from China, died after staying awake for almost 11 nights, watching every single Euro 2012 game.
After seeing Italy defeat Ireland, 26-year-old Jiang took a shower and fell asleep.
Jiang never got the chance to watch another game. He died in his sleep.
Too much alcohol and tobacco, and a lack of sleep were cited as the cause of his untimely death. Jiang’s friends were shocked, saying that he had started living healthfully.
This is, unfortunately, not the first time something like this happened. During the 2006 and 2010 World Cup tournaments, numerous people were rushed to hospitals from exhaustion.
