A mother from central China has given birth to a baby weighing a whopping 7 kg. That’s 15.4 pounds for you non-metric people.
For some perspective, an average baby would check in at just over half that weight.
The baby, who goes by the delightfully humorous name Chun Chun, was born via Cesarean section in Henan province to his 29-year-old mother.
Despite the baby’s rather large size, the state-run Tianjin Post stated that the mother and father are of normal size and the pregnancy was run-of-the-mill, with no complications.
Chun Chun might be the largest baby born in the country since its establishment in 1949, but his status as a record breaker is as of yet unknown.
