Life-Sized Gundam Built in Japan
Japan takes its toys very serious. Al you have to do is look at the Hello Kitty! Theme Park to realize that; however, I don’t think a giant Hello Kitty! head on a carousel is any match for a full-scale Gundam.
For the uninitiated, Gundam is an anime series in Japan that features giant robots called “Mobile Suits.” It is a 50 billion yen business of popular company Bandai Namco, and is considered a cultural icon in Japan. As such, the existence of this massive Mobile Suit Gundam really is no surprise.
Parts of thethe 1:1 scale Gundam will be on display in Odaiba starting August 21. You can check the suit out between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., though it will set you back about 500 yen.
Sigh. Once again, it’s only a matter of time before it comes to life and kills us all.
