Drive Down The Staircase: Don’t Believe Everything You Read
In a shopping mall in Liuzhou, southern China’s Guangxi Province, a sign reading ‘car park’ and indicating the direction with an arrow, led instead to a stairway and a very bumpy ride.

Xiang Zhen, a dutiful citizen, followed the arrow on the sign and found herself stuck halfway down a staircase that was clearly not designed for cars.
“I saw a sign overhead saying ‘car park’ so I drove under it, but the road instantly plummeted and became so bumpy,” said Xiang.
Under the stairs, a local tradesman selling from a stand and some shoppers heard the noise as the car descended and ran for their lives from the oncoming car.
Xiang was forced to leave her car and call a local company for help in getting her car back on solid ground.
Mall authorities could offer no explanation as to why the sign was in a place where it shouldn’t have been. They are currently embroiled in compensation talks with Xiang.
This was not the driver’s fault but it is indeed a very odd occurrence and one that may make us think twice about following signs.
