Siberian Tiger Found in Trunk of Car
Police near Yizhang in Hubei Province, China, got the surprise of their lives when they tracked down a vehicle that had been involved in a hit and run accident. The car sped off after striking another vehicle along the highway and the police intercepted the car at the next toll-gate.

As a matter of routine, the driver was pulled over and the police searched the vehicle, finding a Siberian tiger in a cage in the boot of the car.
“There was a strong stench coming from the boot so we opened it found something wrapped in a large canvas… We unwrapped it and found a giant tiger sitting in a cage. We don’t know why the man had it or where he was taking it but he didn’t have any papers for it,” said officer Chen Yen.
The Siberian tiger is a greatly endangered species due to its disappearing habitat of forests and trees cut down for industrial purposes. Police are conducting an investigation, but so far the man has said nothing about his most unusual cargo.
The offender remains in custody facing charge for both the hit a d run and wild animal abuse.
