Chinese Resort Holds Naked Ski Party
In the mountains of western China, the term, “come as you are,” has taken on newer and chillier implications.
Hundreds of revelers attended the fancy dress skiing party held at the Tianchi International Ski Resort, in Urumqi, Xinjiang province.
Many of the guests were garbed in bizarre attire, but none drew more attention than the twenty-two guests who dared to brave the cold (not to mention staring eyes), as they turned out on the snow either naked or scantily dressed.
The Naked Pig Event has nothing to do with pork or barbecues or even pigs and the contest is not for those who embarrass easily. (There’s no place to hide that blush).
The contest drew two male skiers who appeared before the world completely nude save from their skis, boots and hats.
The “Coldest Beauty” award went to Xie Yong, whose costume consisted only of a snowflake. Best costume went to Zhang Rongmin for dressing as a half naked Arab.
Both contestants won the equivalent of £100 and a trophy.
“We have this party at the end of the skiing season each year but this has been the best yet,”said a spokesman from the resort.
In some contests the winner takes all, but in this competition, all has already been taken from the contestants!
To each his own, however cold it may be.
