Bizarre Images Punish A Pregnant Hitler For His Sins

At the first edition of the Art Fair Stage in Singapore, one very unusual and quite peculiar exhibit is creating quite a stir.

Final Judgement is the name of the disturbing collection of bizarre images painted by an Indonesian artist depicting Adolph Hitler, the murderous, despicable leader of Nazi Germany as a pregnant woman.

Ronald Manullang’s artistic vision concerns the creation of a ridiculous parody, the subject of which is one of the most hated men in history who committed unspeakable acts against humanity that merit the most severe and unrelenting punishment.

Behind the reluctant smiles these images may evoke lingers an overwhelming sadness and uncomfortable acceptance for this madman’s place in modern history.

One painting reveals a naked woman’s body with Hitler’s face. He wears an open coat and his toenails are brightly painted. In another, Hitler is heavily pregnant, with large bare breasts.

Symbolically, these images become even more dramatic as they juxtapose the reality they represent along the painful edge of human degradation and suffering.

In one instance, the mass murderer is cradling the baby Jesus in his lap; in another, he sports a death camp tattoo on his wrist as he cradles a Jewish infant.

Even Anne Frank, the purest symbol of immortal innocence and intolerance, is depicted in one of the paintings, standing next to a seated Hitler, who holds a baby on his bare knees.

These images are startling to say the very least.

“This is a terrifying, powerful man who has to breastfeed, sing lullabies and caress a baby who he really hates. He killed many people but he was never punished… The main point of my collection is to punish him… for his past sins,” said Manullang of his collection.

To each his own, but perhaps as far as pregnancy is concerned, even some right-to-lifers might agree that in hindsight, Hitler’s mother should never have carried HER baby full term.

One man’s vision of crime and punishment is allowed, but even with the passage of seven decades, the residue of Hitler’s murderous legacy still lingers restlessly within the ether of the air.
