Guangzhou Man Wears Garbage In Style

The poor are everywhere and hardly an invisible force in our modern world, wherever we may call home.

We hear stories about necessity’s call to innovation; dolls made from hot-water bottles, drinking glasses from jam jars and clothing conjured from all kinds of unexpected sources.

But this story and this man from Guangzhou are truly amazing.

The homeless man depicted above has taken the concept of lemons and lemonades to extremes heretofore unimagined.

His outfit of discarded newspapers and other assorted rubbish is quite incredible.

He stands as a poignant symbol of man’s struggle against adversity.

A day spent scrounging through dustbins for this man reaps its own kind of rewards.

There may be no pots of gold there among the garbage cans, but there is the glimmer of hope and survival that shines through this man’s personal efforts.

One can only wonder if a matching belt and socks may be in the works?

Tune in again next week; same time, same station, for the answer.
