Pet Goat Works as Guard Dog and Performs Tricks
We often hear tales of animals having unusual abilities and here comes another one about a smart goat in China.
The population of Cashmere goats in China numbers 123 million, and one of them stands horns above others of his ilk with his uncanny ability to fight off stray dogs, dance and perform tricks for his delighted owner.

Zhao Huaiyun, who lives in Mianzhu, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, says he trained the precocious creature himself but that the goat went beyond his instructions.
This goat, whose name is unknown, even makes sure that his owner answers his cell phone whenever he leaves it around the house and doesn’t hear it ring.
“ Whenever the goat hears my mobile phone ring, it runs up to me, puts its forelegs on my arms, and baas nonstop until I answer it. He’s really smart and loves to dance with me. He shakes hands (well, hooves) with visitors,” says Zhao.
Cashmere goats are known to bond with humans, and in their own caprine way are sometimes like dogs. They can be protective and seek approval from those that feed and love them, especially if given the attention.
The goat drives other marauding dogs away from the property and is also smart enough to know that if he can’t win the fight, it is time to run back into the house and call to his owner for help.
Quite a guy, this goat.
