Chinese Man Drops Mobile Phone:Trapped In Toilet

Posted on November 5, 2010

A young man who is a student at the Technology and Business University in the city of Chongqing, China, has had a rather embarrassing and most unusual experience involving a mobile phone and a public toilet.

After accidentally dropping his mobile phone down in a public toilet cubicle in the eastern province of Jiangsu, he wrapped his arm in newspaper thinking it would keep it clean as he reached down into the bowl to retrieve his phone.

But, alas, as what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men that oft go astray sometimes does, the arm of the hapless young man became trapped up to his shoulder in the U-bend as the newspaper expanded.

Fire fighters were called to the scene and they found the poor young man hunched over the toilet with his arm trapped down the loo pipe. They had to break the bowl to free his arm and the rescue effort involved crowbars and hammers and took about ten minutes.

The young man walked away from the scene more or less unhurt, with numerous cuts, bruise and one very wet and now disgusting mobile phone.

One can only wonder: If the phone still works, how could he now put it near his face, and…who called the firefighters to rescue this poor young man?

It's a Chinese toilet, Jan. It's not full of water.

How is newspaper going to help keep you clean if you are completely drenching your arm into the toilet?
