Taiwanese Anchorwoman Choked by Mosquito
Do you hate mosquitoes? I sure do. But neither you nor I probably hate them as much as Taiwanese news anchor Huang Ching, who almost died when one got caught in her mouth.

Ms. Ching was reporting a news story for China Television Co. when a surreptitious mosquito climbed into her mouth. Instead of bursting into tears or throwing a fit, the professional anchorwoman continued undeterred, though a few tears could be spotted in her eyes.
“It wouldn’t have been polite to spit it out on camera,” she said.

Unfortunately, the mosquito dug deep into her windpipe, thereby setting off a really bad asthma attack that almost caused her to choke to death. A four-minute advertisement then aired, during which time she was replaced with a different anchor.

Ching was then rushed to a hospital, where she spent several days under observation.
Her thoughts on the ordeal?
“I never expected a mosquito to have such great power. It really gave me a bad day.”
Indeed. Never underestimate a diminutive sized foe!
