What an odd conversation to start on here, Still, I can't help but point out that as omnivores we are supposed to eat herbivores. That is how the web works. Herbivores eat plants-carnivores eat herbivores. We get next to no real benefit from eating a carnivore. Cats and dogs are carnivores.

Furthermore, in cultures where they eat cats and dogs, the animals are traditionally boiled alive like lobsters to make it easier to skin them. I'm not a vegetarian, it's a difficult lifestyle to have and completely healthy, still I do not support flat out cruelty when it comes to what I eat. I don't support cows being kept in tiny pens so they don't use their muscles and their meat gets fattier and more tender. I support animals to be free range so they get some semblance of a life before they join the food chain. I support a quick painless death.

"we humans are animals too" Precicely, and unlike ruminants such as cows, we dont have the physiology to digest cellulose, we're designed to eat meat. if people want to fry up a little dog then that's their prerogative. I draw the line at humans, but everything else is fair game. And as a side note if you're seriously making the claim that chickens are smart and compassionate creatures you clearly haven't spent much time around chickens.

How are dogs different from pigs, cows, or chickens? They are all smart, compassionate, creatures that if loved will love you back. What ranking system do you employ to decide what animals shouldn't be eaten and what ones should? Don't forget, we humans are animals too. Either no animal should be eaten or there shouldn't be an acceptable divide. All or none, the lines drawn are just to please yourself. If you eat a chicken then who ever wants to eat a dog, can eat a dog.
