Nepalese Stray Dog Lands Cushy Job

In some parts of Asia, some jobs are going to the dogs! Nepal’s Red Cross Society was so touched by the watchdog capabilities of a stray dog that they have allocated a job title for the pooch. This comes complete with a monthly salary as well as overtime payment.
The group claim that the homeless black mongrel had simply popped up near the office one day and took it upon itself to watch over the premises.
Thus, it barked and warned the folks every time a stranger wandered onto the grounds.
The Society was impressed with its dedication to the job and thereby, decided to reward it for its efforts.
This came in the form of a regular salary of 1 000 rupees with additional compensation for any guard work during the weekend.
According to Man Bahadur Budathokia, the president of NRSC, this money would mainly be used to buy snacks and goodies for the dog. This included meat on a regular basis as well as generous amounts of milk and biscuits.
For the ex-street dog, this of course means that it finally has a place to call home.
In fact, Budathokia also said: “The dog is doing such a great job that we might even get rid of our night guard.”
