It&#039;s custardy and flanny, especially depending on which kind you get- the prepackaged refridgerated kind are more jelly-like and the homemade kind are more custardy- likewise prepared brown topping is jelly like- but the actual homemade brown topping is caramelized sugar. It&#039;s name translates to &quot;pudding&quot; (&quot;pu ding&quot;), so if you hear about a Japanese/Chinese pudding product/flavor referred to only as pudding, this is it.    </description>
