Drinking Beer Out of a $50,000 Mug?

There’s nothing better than a frosty mug of beer on a hot summer day. One Japanese company is betting that customers will blow $50,000 for the privilege of drinking their beer out of pure gold.

The luxury mug weighs 850 grams and is manufactured by Ginza Tanaka. The price of the drinking glasses fluctuates on a daily basis depending on the price of gold – some days it could be a down payment on a nice house, other days it will only cost about as much as a luxury car.

The mug was displayed as part of the “Summer Cool” collection.  The collection also features wine goblets, sake glasses and fans made of gold.

“It’s, of course, tasty drinking beer from a normal glass, but it was a new experience to drink from a golden mug,” said Ginza Tanaka staff member Aya Yanagi.

I have found that sometimes if the package is wrapped too nicely, the inside isn't that good. It is sort of like the garbage problem in NYC when the colectors were on strike. They made their garbage look like a beautiful package.People when then steal it.SURPRISE!!! garbage

What a waste of money. I would spend that on sushi instead.
