Weird Asia News 2.0
Since we launched the site, about 2 years ago, the readership has grown substantially. At a certain point, we realized the basic blog design we had would never allow us to give you, the readers, a proper site with many different ways to discover new and weird content.
So about 5 months ago we started working on a new design.

Today, that design is a reality in the first version of WAN 2.0.
We have already began a list of potential changes and fixes. Some sections are bound to be broke or have errors.
Please bare with us as we go through the changes. If you notice any bugs or have any suggestions, please put them in the comments section of this post.
We hope you like the new design and look forward to bringing you more weird news from all over Asia.
Thanks,

I like the new layout, but I think the main page shows too much information. Though some people like the “in your face” magazine style layouts sweeping the blogosphere, I’m personally a fan of showing the main “feed” on the home page. It just seems more functional, and allows readers to start reading content right away. Maybe you could keep a few headline elements, then show the main feed below it?

great content btw and your new design looks wonderful.
imho, i have a couple comment on the design
1. i think u find this articles interesting about using tables as lay-out
2. the blue ads on the top doesn’t match your color scheme of the new design.
just that. Hope to see your new posts

i agree, i didnt quite know where to look when i arrived…i guess coz the old version always just had that one line of feed so it was just easy to see what was new…but all in all i like the new look…maybe put some focus somewhere…itz a bit ‘things-everywhere’ at the moment…don’t reali know what to read

Congratulations! The look is great but I think you guys need to dig a little deeper to find fresh, new stories..gleaning the wire services, there is a lot more going on that is worthy of Weird Asia News which you do not print.
I’ve always enjoyed the concept that you put forth and the items you post but come on, there are new weird things happening daily. Can’t get photos or permission, then post the links. I see the potential here to post several new items daily. I’m looking forward to the evolution of Weird Asia News to coincide with the new look.

Ok, I love the content, but I liked the old design, it was simple and easy to use. The new one is just confusing.
Could you perhaps make a way that we can choose which way to view it?
I used to be able to find and know which were the newest articles very easy and in a nice order, now it seems all over the place.

@Matty
Well the front page is all new articles. The left column is the three most recent articles and the second column is the most recent article from each country. The third column has the most recent video and images.
So the entire front page is recent content.

I actually liked the old version better because you could tell what was new instantly, and I actually thought it was easier to use.

Congratulations!
I like the new layout. Nice, clean, fast. The front page shows anything you are looking for. At the foot you have everything and still clean. Good!
Comments:
1. When reading an article, the “news” section is repeated: “News > News > Weird Asia News 2.0″ (and both News link to the same address).
2. The different font type in the tittle (class brownheading) doesn’t match the others. Feels out of place.
