Heinous Crime Sparks Police Probe in Japan

Someone has committed an act so heinous it has prompted a investigation probe and received national attention.

A Nagoya Municipal Government official reported to the Meito Police Station that 150 African lilies had been cut down while sitting in their flower beds. The scene of the crime was along a sidewalk in Nagoya’s Meito-ku and it was discovered around 5:20 pm on Thursday, 26 June 2008.

The victims, planted in the 22 flower beds on the northern side of the sidewalk and 10 on the southern side, were found cut or torn apart.

It is still unknown who committed this crime but with National news coverage and the police probe actively hunting the criminal, it is only a matter of time until he, or she, is brought to justice.
