eLife: Disposable Paper Pots and Pans

Campers, Hikers, and just about anyone who hates scrubbing pots and pans will be excited about a new revolutionary invention out of South Korea.

eLife, a product sold in at least one supermarket in Seoul, South Korea, is a collection of pots and pans made completely out of paper.

Available in many different shapes and sizes, eLife paper pots and pans have a special material that is painted on the bottom that allows them to be used on direct heat or flame.

No more having to carry heavy pots and pans when going camping, or wash nasty pots and pans at home.

awesome. one thing i’d like to comment about your articles at weirdasianews, though, is that you guys always don’t give details. such that some of your stories come off as hoaxes. (not this one, i’m just saying.) you have hit the 1000 mark, but you should continue to try and improve.

It is funny.. cause a lot of the so called hoaxes come from news.. and some are not hoaxes at all..

It is hard when major news reports something to further validate.. sometimes people lie.. :(

How can you say that? Can’t the paper be made by recycled paper? And what about the water that is being conserved for not scrubbing the pots?

Exactly what I was thinking…lets kill some more trees and produce more trash and litter more camping areas because people are too lazy to carry a few pounds of pots and pans and do a few dishes.

    Great Idea!

    Er, how?
Paper generally comes from plantation timber, which means the more you use, the more trees need to get planted. ie good for the environment. And if it goes to landfill you have effectively created CO2 sequestration. ie even better.
The best thing you could for the environment do is to buy as much locally sourced wood or paper as you can afford and bury it.

Not only will the trash litter camping grounds but it is fireproof so it won’t burn easily in a campfire.

So smelting metal is environmentally friendly huh?
How many pots and pans are used till they’re spoiled nowadays?

An invention for people even too lazy to use a dish washing machine.
But really didn’t this already exist in a recyclable from with the disposable
aluminum foil pans one can buy.
If this is real it’s amazingly environmentally irresponsible I’d also worry about the fire proofing chemicals leeching into the food.

I have to agree with the general sentiment here. Aren’t we already doing enough to hurt the environment? If someone can’t even be bothered to bring along lightweight camping cookware…man, campgrounds are messy enough as it is.

what it comes down to is that we already use too much, and inventing more and more disposable commodities just means that we’re gonna dispose of them. thank you korea, may all your trees turn to ash.
