Vietnamese Video Professor: Tom Vu
“In a time long ago, before the first nail salon in Orange County and Tila Tequila probably wasn’t even born yet… there was Tom Vu.”
Tuan “Tommy” Vu is a Vietnamese-American poker player, real estate investor and speaker best remembered as a video professor and infomercial personality in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
As a Vietnamese immigrant, he presented himself as the classical ‘rags to riches’ story.
Tom Vu, the original Vietnamese pimp and video professor, is an icon today for his bad English promises to fame and fortune. Tom knew only one truth. If you came to his seminar, then you would make money, have luxurious things, and score lots of women.
“Do you think these girls like me? NO, they like my money!”
Tom didn’t mind telling you that working hard was dumb, girls want your money, and your friends are all losers! How can you not love this guy.

Being rich is one thing,but having and maintaining good health is what constitute a “wealthy person”.Hopefully,all his women and excess of luxury,doesn’t stain his health.

Kohng Koy Kahn Souphanousinphone Sr struggles with his job, he and Minh order a video that they see advertised for on television. They are informed to find a “turnkey operation” to sit back and relax and make loads of money.
Kahn ends up buying a car wash that often holds classic car events. Kahn drives the loyal customers away by kicking them out if they don’t pay for his water or soap. He even jacks up prices and gives less for the people’s money.
The tape of “Dr. Money” that Kanh and Minh order is a parody of Tom Vu.

You are a very wise person! I agree with you 100%. There are three most important things in life: 1. health (if you are sick you won’t be able to do anything) 2. love (a person needs unconditional love from family and friends, good friends will stand behind you whether you’re rich are poor) 3. wisdom (knowledge is power! if you are ignorant the society will take advantage of you!) *I actually heard this over the radio from a Buddhist monk! That’s not to say money is not important. It brings security and comfort to life. Yet, too many people are slaves to money and believe it’s the answer to everyday’s problems.
I lost my kidneys and went to the hospital for 4 years of treatment so I know how important one’s health is. I’m lucky enough to get a kidney transplant from a cadaver and I feel so lucky everyday. And I’m only in my early 20s!
It’s too bad not many people today think as you do. The world would be a better place if more people like you are around!

Holy crap.
I think my girlfriend could possibly be related to this guy. >.> Her last name is the same, and her family looks EXTREMELY similar to him.

Tom Vu is now a succesful Porfessional Poker Play withover 1.5 million in career earnings including a second place finish in a World Series of Poker even in 2007. Yes it is the same guy. "Come to my Poker Table!"
