Full Size Transformer Built in China: Autobot X2

Three Chinese guys decided to build their own Transformer after seeing the recent blockbuster movie.

Meet Autobot X2, a custom built Citroen C2 Transformer.

Unfortunately you won’t hear any cool sounds or commands to lay down your weapons. Unable to transform or move, the X2 is a 1,200 pound kick ass statue that cost about $8,000 to make.

If you think that is cool, they are planning on making Optimus Prime next…

Yea, because those stupid chinks can’t even build real transformers that transforms, talk about behind the time. Right? Why don’t you build one and show them how it’s then? Moron.

Let’s see you build one Bill. As far as behind time, I don’t think you have visited or knew any thing of today’s China. Heard of ‘The Rising Dragon’? Why don’t you educate yourself a little before you criticize.

He was being deliberately racially biased, as a form of sarcasm.

He was basically replying to the insulting comment with “I’d like to see you do better, moron.”

:)

Awesome statue!

Wa, I think you’ll find that Bill was being sarcastic to have a go at “Anonymous”, don’t be a git.

I’m sure it had nothing to do with the Transformers movie, more it was inspired by the transforming C2 in the Citroen adverts that have been running for a few years.

Awesome!

One thing tho, it’s not a Citroen C2, but a C4 (tho the headlights look a little bit different), but definitely not a C2 =P.

The amount of morons making comments here is unreal, do you really think it can transform? Maybe you should get off the internet and go back to day dreaming.

Car bore time…

The car pictured is a Citroen.. but it isn’t. It’s a Dongfeng T21 - A Peugeot 206 re-badged as the Citroen C2 in China

Why is it dressed up as a transformer? Because of Citroen’s hugely popular transformer marketing campaign featuring a dancing robot Citroen C4 (done using CGI and a guy in a suit). This can be viewed here and the follow-up here .

Both of those adverts came out long before the recent transformers movie.

I suspect it’s perfectly genuine, wouldn’t be hard to make after all. And of course it doesn’t transform… ^_^
