What? It doesn’t come with a rubber inflatable doll to collect my specimen? Pity…..

Cool, If they release a version with a projector on the microscope, you can just display the image on the wall. Finally a viable replacement for the household aquarium. You could even get your girlfriend to give the little fellers names…….

Those names better be thought of fast, since they’d die after a while :P

So is this microscope stronger than the light microscopes we have at school?

It doesn’t really have much of an entertainment value to me, so I probably don’t want one since im not much considered about pro-creation or making babies.

“So is this microscope stronger than the light microscopes we have at school?”

I thought this at first too but then I remembered that microscopes at schools and such are generally spoken about by the power of the objective lens since that is the more important one and the one that is alternated with others to adjust the power. When selling microscopes to the public they refer to them by the total magnification power which includes the (often 10x) magnification of the eyepiece so what you are getting is an order of magnitude lower than what a student would assume after hearing about the 40x and 100x scopes in his lab and then hearing a scope spoken of as 1200x. Even a 120x objective sounds high since we generally use oil immersion at the 100x level so the ocular lens is likely 20x with the objective lens being 5x, 30x and 60x magnification.

I wager that a lot of microscopes get sold to students due to this misunderstanding.
