Japanese Arm Breaking Game Recalled

Flex your muscles, smile at the girls, and get ready to stand arm to arm with the Japanese arcade game that is likely to break you… literally.

About 150 “Arm Spirit” games were recalled after three people broke their arms while playing it.

“The machine isn’t that strong, much less so than a muscular man. Even women should be able to beat it,” said spokeswoman Ayano Sakiyama.

The company went on to indicate they believe that the users of this game may be overexcited and twisting their arms in unusual ways which are causing the accidents. They will be investigating the machines for any sign of malfunction.

Arm Spirit players challenge such opponents as a French main, drunken martial arts master, and a little Chihuahua before the final match with a professional wrestler.

man vs machine

it that is game was call in the us by the name Arm Spirits

Game makers insist that the mechanical arm players “wrestle” with quote “isn’t that strong,” but they still can’t explain how 3 different players ended up with broken arms. They’re recalling the 150 “Arm Spirits” from arcades around Japan to check them for malfunctions, although a rep says “We think that maybe some players get overexcited and twist their arms in an unnatural way.”
