Bookstores Become Nanny to Abandoned Children
If you happen to be in a bookstore in China and notice a larger than normal amount of children without their parents, don’t be alarmed or worried.
Busy couples in Harbin, China, who don’t have time to watch their children while they are on vacation from school have decided to drop them off in the bookstores on the way to work and pick them up on the way home.
“It’s a safe place for him to spend time on vacation,” a mother surnamed Yuan said.
The bookstores don’t mind but they are a little concerned on the extra wear the books will go through in the hands of so many children.
No reports of any children missing or taken from the bookstores unwillingly.

Eventually the bookstore will probably charge each child for their stay.Stained,torn,books will likely to happen,so they must have extra funds to compensate. If a child becomes ill,they need funds and assistance to take them to a hospital.

you know, my mum used to leave me in the Disney store for hours on end while she shopped for food and clothes. I had a blast
How man public libraries in China do you know?
It used to happen all the time in my candy store here in the US. Parents would just give their kids money for the day and tell them to go to the mall. That changed after the lccal arcade went out of business and Sept. 11, but I had one group of girls decide to “camp out” on the floor of my store and wait for ‘dad to pick them up’. I asked them when that was, and they told me 3:30 and it was 1:30! I told them to leave and I called the police. These girls were not more than 7 to 9 years old!

The libraries aren’t the same as in western countries. Here you go to a library to loan a book then go home and read it. There’s no lounges or chairs to read at.
