9 Year-old Steals Mother’s Car … From His Kidnappers
Police in China received a report that a 9 year-old boy had crashed into an agricultural vehicle. What they found out was shocking.

“A small boy got out of the car with his hands shaking and said: “Some people stole my mom’s car, and I drove it away when they weren’t paying attention”.”
The boy and his mother had been riding in the vehicle earlier that day when robbers pulled the mother from her car and stole the car with the boy in it.
Passing vehicles said they did not stop to help because they thought it was a domestic disturbance.
We would have loved to see the conversation that those robbers had when they noticed the car and the boy where just gone.

Chinaman is correct usage, and is in the dictionary. But I say it should be Chineseman. Because you say Englishman, Scotsman, and Frenchman; not Englandman, Scotlandman, and Franceman.

Surely by your own argument it would be Chineseman?

Ok first of all claiming that “Chinaman” is as innocuous as Englishman, Scotsman, Frenchman is fucking retarded. Chinaman was a derrogatory term originated by English sailors, in the early 1800s, to denigrade the Chinese. The word in the US also carries a historical stigma of racism and prejudice. It has been used as a wedge to alienate Americans of Chinese heritage from being “Americans”. In other words you are an ignorant, uneducated fuck.
Furthermore in the example cited above (Englishman, Scotsman, Frenchman) I would hope that anyone above the age of 2 can recognize that the English, French, and Scottish are ethnic groups where as China is a country. So in that context it would be chineseman.

I propose that, for the sake of contuniuty and familiarity, stick with how most american speakers say it, which is chinaman. I know it breeches naming countryman congruity, but this IS english. It breaks rules, blame on the alcoholic who put together our dictionary, blame it on poor education facilities, or blame it on text messaging. The point is this kid is very very hardcore. Most of us would have wet our pants: statistically, most of us would wait for someone else to help us. Statistically, this kid will work harder and earn less while still whooping our ass on standardized tests and video games. His kidnappers, however, not so much. I hope they realize they were out-witted by a 9-year-old and react accordingly: apply for aid on the premise of mental disability. Or they could just go die in a fire, their effectiveness as contributing citizens remains about the same in either case.

well actually English=England and that’s a country and French=France and that’s a country I think that getting uppity about someone saying “chinaman” on the internet isn’t really worth it since like it’s the internet and like that’s something you should be prepared to see before you even open your browser.
