Buddha Visits China On Rainbow… Stays an Hour

A human-shaped shadow in the middle of a rainbow halo appears on Zushan Mountain after a heavy rainfall in Qinhuangdao, North China’s Heibei Province, July 1, 2007.

The vision, which many tourists believed to be the Buddha, stayed for more than an hour.

Not only is this not Buddha, but it’s well documented and very common.

    It’s easy to do too:

First step, climb a mountain or a hill high enough for there to be clouds (or fog) beneath you. Then wait until the sun is setting / rising depending on which side the clouds are on. Snap a picture at the right angle and instant Buddha vision complete with rainbow halo.

As you can see in this picture, the arms of the figure seem short, there’s a reason for this, it’s the photographer’s arms holding up the camera.

Yeah, Robin. I totally thought it was really a mystical entity made physical on earth for the benefit of the internet. Like Jesus… Or Batman. Or a politician that isn’t owned by multi-national corporations. Still, pretty.
