Dogs can be anxious when they are around people that are nervous about them. So if she was afraid then the dog picks up on it. and I have seen even a timid dog become anxious when around people that are afraid of it. Dogs are amazing, they pick up on vibes that people miss. but if you are afraid of dogs they pick this up and feel your fear, makes them on edge, and then they jump or snap where they normally would not. I always told my sister to trust her dog's opinion of her new boyfriend, the dog was always right. I am sure the dogs enjoyed the mutton!
