The restaurant specializes in dog meat dishes, and the reporter orders their most famous item: Dog Meat Galpi in a sauce with vegetables. It’s tender and not too bad.

The shot of the menu reveals the prices for dishes to be around 25 to 35 yuan (about 3 to 5 US Dollars), which isn’t so bad… for North Korean dog meat.

nothing wrong with eating dogs, meat is not the best quality and the perception of virality is pschological. How cares, Its not like dogs are endangered species like tigers. so westereners have pet dogs and complain. I have 2 dogs and 7 cats, I think eating cats and dogs is OK. How many dogs and cat are culled every year because someone dont want them as a pet, think of all that meat and fur gone to waste, I’m serious.

    Nice English Jackass.

If you don’t understand why it is morally wrong to eat an animal that has been humanized for over 2000 years, you are either morally bankrupt or basically retarded. Which is it?

Or, perhaps, you are trying to justify the acts of an inferior culture and their sick twisted inferior acts. Save your PC B.S.

    Hi JM

Think your comment is incorrect. Most but not all cultures on the planet have humanized dogs, for the need for protection and or pets etc, like western cultures.

No. It is not okay to eat dog meat or any other meat for that matter. Eating meat is bad for your health, bad for the planet and obviously bad for the millions of animals that suffer in squalid living conditions only to meet a painful death. Humans are meant to eat primarily a plant-based diet. It’s easy, it’s healthy, it’s compassionate.

I agree with eating the flesh of those would be ok if they were slaughtered fast with a brain penetrating pin or the such. However they bring dogs the most torturous death as possible just to heighten the flavor. I’m talking about skinning alive (check out videos), burning off their fur while alive with gas torches, hitting with sticks, hanging them to choke… That’s totally unacceptable for me. Not to mention the life they lived until the point to be tortured and to have to watch the other dogs to be tortured to death.

All you westerners should stop eating beef from cows, pork, chicken and turkey. Only then you come back to us and demand stop eating dog meat. Is this a deal?

After you have spent thousands of years domesticating chickens, turkeys, cows, and pigs to be companion animals; after you have taught a pig to be an assistance animal for the handicapped; after you have taught your "police chickens" and guard cows; then yes we will stop eating them you mental, and likely, physical midget. Your views are insult to your own culture and people, forget about the west.

the only reason people in western culture look down upon eating dogs is becuase of the symbology a dog carries to westerners. we hold high esteem to our dogs being like our best friends, who share qualities similar to and we seek out the more human qualities. alot of us treat them with respect and love, the idea of eating a dog or even killing a dog disgust people becuase the context of the dog in our culture. so to look down upon those who use the dog as a food source is highly ethnocentric but understandable. i personally think that there are moral ways in wich an animal should be killed if it is to be eaten, but as to what animals humans eat, i dont think another cultural group can pressure another as to what their diet is.

blah, blah, blah, same tired grade C answer. Oh, but nowadays this is an A- answer for you Gen Who Cares. Nothing ethnocentric about animal abuse. Korean dogs are neither dumber nor less likely to bond with humans than western dogs. This may be the dumbest group of bigots I have ever seen online.
