Woman had bullet in head for 64 years
A Chinese grandmother who went to hospital with a headache was found to have had a bullet in her head for 64 years.
Jin Guangying, 77, of Shuyang town, Jiangsu province, went to to Shuyang Leniency Hospital for an x-ray.
“We were surprised to learn there was a bullet inside her head,” her son, Wang Zhengbang, told the Yangtse Evening Post.

Jin remembers that she was shot in 1943 during the Second World War by the invading Japanese army when she was taking supplies to her guerrilla father.
“I was 13, living along the railways in Xuzhou city. One afternoon in September, my mother asked me to take a meal to my father and his colleagues who were fighting the Japanese,” she said.
“I was spotted by the Japanese army. They ran after me and opened fire. A bullet passed through the corner of my right ear. I hit the ground and lost consciousness.”
When Jin regained consciousness, she was already back home in bed. Her mother applied herbal medicines to the wound. Amazingly, she recovered after three months.
Jin later learned that the bullet had gone through the arm of a person beside her before hitting her head.
The chief surgeon, who removed the rusty bullet, was amazed it had remained in her head for so long without causing major problems.
“The fact that the bullet lost strength and speed passing through another person, and that the point it struck is not vital, may explain her survival,” he said.

Base on her age, during the incident the brain cell still able to replicate, even the bullet when inside but provided it did not hit the vital part of the brain. Indeed it is a miracles…

Incredible that the rust didn’t penetrate the blood or something.

Bullets do not rust. They are made of lead and maybe a copper jacket. Rust free elements. They do oxidize, but they do not rust in the traditional sense like steel does (iron oxide).

It has been found that braincells replicate throughout all the lifetime. The thing that is true is that young brains can “rewire” more easily, although 13 is already very old in this aspect. But still she was very lucky.

Neat Story. Bullets are made of LEAD. Lead doesn’t rust. Also, bullet shape is wrong for the period it was supposedly fired. Also note the total lack of bullet deformation.

To “Me”, bullet shape of all WW2 rifles was the spitzer shape. Also known as the boat-tail, pointed tip, etc. and not to be mistaken for the previous style round nose, or parabellum pistol bullet shape. That’s most likely a 7.7mm Japanese round from an Arisaka bolt action. The tip looks a little deformed judging from the X-ray, but that’s to be expected when it impacts bone… that’s what takes most of the impact. You’d be surprised what a heavy round like the 7.7 can punch through without deforming. A standard, non AP round can go through 3/8″ of steel plate while only shedding its jacket, and leaving a lead core of similar shape to continue moving. These aren’t pussy .223 rounds, they’re heavy, fast, and do so much more penetrative damage.

What he/she is probably trying to say is that the mysterious man in the clouds is just that – mysterious! He works in mysterious ways – oOoOOoOo – but must have decided as the bullet hit her that he instead wanted her to live therefor used his divine intervention to make it possible using his magic powers but damned if he’ll actually intervene before something bad happens, I mean wouldn’t that just take all the fun out of life? Don’t question god, because as far as I’m concerned if you just ignore him he goes away. God exists in the mind, free your mind from god by never thinking about him. That’s the problem with atheists, they are always defeating themselves by discussing religion.
