Japanese Youth Deprived of Porn
The days of Japanese youth getting their first porno mag or video from a dump or forest near their homes is coming to a close. Recently there has been a revival of the trash bins called “Shiroi Posto†in villages.
These “Shiroi Posto” are made specifically for adolescents to dispose of whatever erotic/pornographic goods that they don’t want to have at home in case they are having problems to hide it from their parents.
Hashima City explains: “In order to keep your mental and physical health, beloved adolescents! please use this mailbox to dispose those magazines or books that you don’t want to keep at homeâ€.
The “Shiroi Posto” were very popualar in cities 20 – 30 years ago, but have been diminishing in number. Some experts believe that this is because city youth find it easier to anonymously dispose of these items than their country relatives.
The village leaders decided to create these special trash bins due to the problems that some villages had when they started to find “illegal garbage dumps full of sex magazines†at the entrance of the forest, near the river or in hidden places inside parks”.
