Japanese to Learn Ebonics
Off The Hook, a dictionary of African American slang, in being sold in Japan to help them better understand the language used in many bigger cities like Boston and New York.

After only a short time my friends the Spicy Gangsters had mastered the technique and where on their way to success with their new music video and radio hit.

This is deplorable. I mean, it’s good to have an understanding of different forms of the same dialect which are being spoken in certain countries; it’s like a completely different language depending on where you go.
But it’s becoming a sad world indeed if books like these are intended to actually aid a foreigner planning on visiting…

Funny but I still think the Maritan books are funnier and cuter

I like the guy on the cover. There’s no way I’d ever take him seriously, regardless of how much slang he spoke. What a tool.

This has got to be the most pathetic excuse to
get attention from abroad. I have a biracial
grandmother in Kyoto and she honestly doesn’t
really care what form of the English language my
sister and I speak she will be able to understand us regardless. However personally she told us that
she is glad that we speak the standard form of the
language.My grandmother considers ebonics the
“Dimwit Language”.

Amazing. With Mari-tan’s intensive drills on how to talk like the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket, the Japanese layman, truly, is living in a golden age of cultural exchange.
