New year-end bonus better than cash

Although money is no doubt the favorite year-end bonus for back-busting office workers, those tired of being single will not refuse this reward: a lover.

An IT company in Beijing has decided to offer their employees a novel year-end bonus-an opportunity to find that special someone with an online matchmaking activity.

The new idea is not to save money, but rather, as the human resource manager from the company, Mapbar, says, the company thinks it’s a good way to bring up their employees’ spirits. As there is a demand among staff, they believe, the gift of a lover will be greeted the same way a financial reward would be.

What’s more interesting is that the company has even prepared gifts for people to woo their single employees.

Zhou Xiaopeng, a marriage consultant from the matchmaking website undertaking the activity, says that many office workers have been forced to stay single because of their stressful lives or relatively small social circle.

Nowadays, some companies are even made up entirely of single employees, illuminating the scope of the social problem.
