Old lovers pass away on same day

An old couple in Dujiangyan, Sichuan, were so close that they died on the same day.

Xuan Xuejian, 86, and his wife, Wang Huiqing, 87, had lived together for seven decades. About two months ago, both were confined to bed because of bronchitis and pneumonia.

At 6:30 am on January 25, Xuan’s nephew, Xuan Wenjun, who was taking care of the couple, found that Xuan had died quietly while sleeping. Learning of her husband’s death, Wang shed tears and did not eat anything that day. At about 10:30 pm, she died, as well.

Their relatives decided to bury them together.
