I'm actually a bit fuzzy on how adultery works legally; I know it can be USED as a way to portray spouses as 'bad parents' etc. and get more money/rights over kids (assuming kids exist) over it, but it seems logical to me to punish the one who cheated, or if both did, who cheated in a way that is more emotionally detrimental to the relationship (as in, a married person gets a 'real relationship' talking, emotions, 'love,' etc. not JUST sex, with a non-spouse. Note that this would NOT include a person who is a good friend.). And yeah, if prostitution becomes legal, it should be written in to inform spouses/etc. regardless of sex, BUT I doubt it would happen, since it's so easy to hide being married (unless you have a very clever, Sherlock Holmes prostitute who notices the untanned line on your ring finger....), which kind of sucks, because a) cheating and b) while not all prostitutes have STDs/STIs (AIDs/HIV are not curable, ergo, in my opinion they are diseases, NOT infections), it does increase the likelihood, and if your cheating spouse passed an STD/STI to you AND then you found out they had been cheating, awful, just awful.
