Flower shops are flocking to a wholesale market in Tokyo’s Itabashi-ku to buy colorful “rainbow roses,” which are proving popular Christmas gifts.
Rainbow roses were developed in the Netherlands and the petals are made up of pink, blue, green, yellow and other colors. How the trendy roses were developed remains a secret, industry workers said. Trading houses in Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture have been importing the rainbow roses.
“Orders have been increasing before Christmas,” a president of a flower shop said. “They are popular as gifts because they are rare and look great.”
One bunch of rainbow roses sells for about 1,000 yen at retail flower shops.

they said that they last 10-14 days if the stems are cut and you give them plant food…i think that they are beautiful

I have bought these roses for my flower shop here in texas and I sell the rose/stem for $25.00 or $250.00 Dz. And I cant keep enough of the roses in stock. They Go as Fast as I get them. Almost any florist is able to special order these and their prices will be diffrent depending on their supplier and quantity.
The above price quote is of course right in the price range any florist will charge. I know the designers where I work have used them but have complained about the $$ alot.
