These people are not attention freaks.. They actually meet at Harajuku Bridge every Sunday, completely dressed up. They even sometimes hide their real names etc. Its just a day in a week they do this and usually these people are against the dominant old fashioned values of Japan for example they are against working in a company 24/7 for all of their lives ( which is very common in japan) so they switch from one part-time job to another…
If you go ahead and ask them many would reply they dont care about what others think.. They just like to dress up this way, they think its cute and thats why they are doing it…
So it has a deeper social meaning than what your incompetent commment indicates.
I think that it’s a part of thier coulture and that it is something to look forward to on sundays if you go to some websites a bout harajuku they are not the only ones that are dressed like that P.S. im going to be a harajuku girl for halloween but not the exact clothes
I remember when I served overseas in Japan, the first time a troop of oompa loompas jumped on subway I was on. At the time I was starting to worry that I’d been drugged… At the end of my 3 three’s in Nippon, I’ve come to accept that Japanese youth culture is on parity with their porn, television, and anime… over the top to try and get some sort of response out of a heavily desensitized people.
WOW!!! It’s like a “pierrot” from Mardi Grass! if they come to Brazil, everybody will laugh at them… Poor girls, they are very stranges and this fashion is really wierd!!! I saw a Video from Gwen Steffani… But i thought it was a custom… not for real life!!!
At least they are mildly individual, not plastic clones.
They are just expressing themselves.
Anyon who buys all their clothes from Miss Selfridges or Next and whatever you have abroad. Straightened or curled hair, usually extensions, inches and inches of make-up, lipgloss, false eyelashes, mini skirts, ugg boots, high heels. You dont look down on them and say their fashion is weird or crying for attention. They are all the same.
Harajuku is individual, obviously the fashion caught on the whole harajuku district dresses that way, but they would not turn up to a party, 2 people wearing the exact same outfit. They customize and even make their own stuff too.
Harajuku street fashions are amazing. I’m into them myself, although i’m into the more Visual Kei side, but it’s just away of expressing yourself. It’s better than them being thugs and causing trouble on the streets. Instead, they choose to dress up and show eachother their individuality and style. I’m all for it, and i think its the best thing since sliced bread. Sugoi desu yo! ><
stop hating, japans creativity is 10x more interesting than any country in the world
they have ways to express themselves in a unique beautiful way.
i love it.
harajuku?? japanese fashion sense seems more to me as an Attention Deficit Disorder commercial….Where’s the clown convention??
this is just a subculture’s fashion sense not japan’s as a whole.
Suck on Japan’s ego-dick some more, fag.
You’re a douche.
This look clear;y screams “PLEASE!!! NOTICE ME!! I BEG YOU!!
