Call me bitch, but if my child was born like that i wouldnt let the surgeons opperate on her. id leave her a “mer” baby. the chinese child is beautful nd there are too many defects seperating her lages like that. idk. I probably would have her/him checked out, see if my child could suvrive with what she has and if she has a butthole to poo out of and to urinate, and then id grow her/him up as a mermaid/merman. you never know, that could actually be how mermaids come into existance; through humans.

i have never seen anything lyk dat before? I wounder if this little girl is the first to have “mermaid syndrome”? Or could ther quiet possibly bee more humans born with simular birth defects? I think she is bootiful the way she is, but at the same time separating her legs will give her the oppertunity to live a normal life. Giving her a better chance to fulfill life to all of it’s potentual. Dont get mee wronge life in a wheel chair can just be as fulfilling and special however, she has the chance to change this to some extent. none willing chooses to be parapledgic it’s something which can’t be avioded. Perhaps she should be givin the oppertunity to make her own mind up, (whether to keep her mer tail” or not) afteral it is very unique and special.

First of all, it’s a rare condition (duh)
Secondly, all people born with this condition frequently have kidney and bladder complications due to abnormalities etc (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirenomelia) and this is usually FATAL within a few days of birth. Not many people have survived being born with legs fused together, all those (three or four documented cases) that have are only alive because of surgery.
