High Heels kill Japanese women
(Tokyo) Platform shoes, a must-have fashion accessory for young Japanese women, have already claimed two lives. More deaths are predicted if young women continue to follow in their footsteps.
The first victim, a 25-year-old nursery-school teacher, died in her car after suffering a skull fracture from a fall from her 13-cm platform sandals earlier that day. The second victim was a passenger killed in a car crash when the vehicle hit a concrete pole. The driver, a 25-year-old office worker, was unable to hit the brake because her 8-cm heels got in the way.
With the soles of some shoes reaching as high as 30 cm, health experts are urging the public to take steps to prevent painful foot and back injuries. In light of recent tragedies, police are asking concerned citizens to warn fashion-minded friends and family before a platform shoe mishap befalls them.

Actually, it is again not fashion! in the olden days they did this as a form of tradition when they went to a tea house, or of that sort.
What happened to a little common sense? When I model, or for that matter go anywhere that I want to wear heels, I do not wear my heels to drive…I have flat shoes to drive and then change them before leaving the car. That way you look good walking (who is going to see them when you are driving anyway?) and you are safe driving. Bonus…your heels don’t get scuffed from the car while driving.
As for the girl who was killed driving after her fall….what was she doing driving if her fall was that bad in the first place? A skull fracture? She should have been in bed, not trapsing around in heels and especially not driving.

The 25-year old driver is the same 25-year old skull-fractured gal!!! As a matter of fact, she switched her ultra-high 13cms for more reasonable, safer 8cms heels (following Linda Davis’ advice). Apparently they were not short enough for safe driving.
So you get the picture: she faints from her earlier injuries, crashing her car, causing the dead of her passenger, while she dies from not immediate attention to her injuries!
Man, I knew I had picked the wrong career! I am still trying to figure out if she worked at two different jobs, though…
dont blame the heels. I drive my scorpio, civic in high heels in bangalore. But i know how to control. I drive the car for the past 6 yrs. I never met with any accident. I covered the 130km (bangalore- mysore) in just 1.30 hrs in my scorpio i drove in high heels only.
driving in High heels is very very dangerous. Am a model driving my honda city in mumbai in 5Inch heels. 1day i drove my city to pune for a ad film. At tat time a couple of goats crossing the roads. I unable to put the brake in 90km/hr, bcoz my heels stuck with accelarator. Simply i lost the ctrl. My heels killed the goats. Now i hate heels. Now i driving only in flat shoes
